Bernard Rose

Bernard was born in Orangeburg, SC and has lived in Hinesville, GA for the past 21 years. He is a school teacher by trade and an extraordinarily gifted saxophonist who plays from his soul!

Bernard has developed a unique style of his own. Growing up some of his favorite artist and groups included Quincy Jones, John Coltrane, Bobbi Humphrey, Patrice Rushen, Roy Ayers, George Duke, Weather Report, Spyro Gyra, Earth, Wind, and Fire and others. These artist inspired his interest in jazz, smooth jazz, and jazz fusion. His list of influences has grown greatly since childhood to include saxophonist such as Dave Koz, Warren Hill, Kim Waters, Jeff Kashiwa, Everette Harp, and others.

 Known for his smooth silky style, Bernard's playing and sound has gained great favor and appeal over a wide variety of audiences and people. Hannibal Barca

 
Hannibal Barca is an exceptional  Blues and Smooth Jazz  guitarist from Lake Mary, Florida.  He's been playing for many years and  Playing rhythm guitar and doing some vocals for Joe "Survival" Caruso and his Partners In Crime. Mainly Blues and New Orleans Soul/R&B. Joe is really versatile. Joe, Bruce, Augie, and I met playing around town at different jams and other shows/events. We try to book ourselves as often as possible anywhere we can! Building my on project called Herb & Gruv2Go with some outstanding local talent. It's gonna be an eclectic mix of stuff I know and love. Grady Lark

As Grady's reputation as a keyboardist grew, he joined the Sonny Boy Williamson Show and moved to Amarillo, Texas. There he met Jackie Wilson's band leader, J. C. Davis, and signed on with Little Sonny Green and the Ike and Tina Turner Revue to tour USO clubs and army bases in Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. He eventually made his way to Houston and joined the cadre of musicians promoted by Don Robey and Rudolph Wiley of Duke-Peacock Records. During this time, he performed with such notables as Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Joe Hinton, Little Jackie Payne, and Sam Cooke. Grady finally signed with Al “TNT” Braggs, who was based in Dallas, and toured extensively with his band. Traveling throughout the South, Grady played the same venues as Percy Sledge and Joe Simon and met other notables like Al Green and members of the Willie Mitchell Band.  Reverbnation.com

Russell A. Worrell

Russell A. Worrell (a Native New Yorker, Jamaica Queens), was born February 22nd. At age 11, his mom enrolled him at The Long Island Institute of Music, where he studied under Mitchell Cohen, a great jazz drummer in his own right. As a youngster, Russell co-formed & played with "Me & My Friends", which was one of the popular bands out of the Jamaica Queens area. It was with this experience that he was surprisingly introduced to his own singing voice. As the son of legend drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Russell also spent those early years, along with his mom & sisters touring with King Curtis & Aretha Franklin & even sitting in at the Filmore West show in Detroit at the age of 14.

Russell became a studio rat, hanging out with (Dad) Purdie at the various studio sessions:{Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack, Aretha, Grady Tate, Steely Dan, Etc.}, while listening, learning & absorbing the approach to the drumkit, as it applies to groove, technique, keeping time, & playing with dynamics. His first professional gig came at the age of 15. Since then, Russell has applied his style of groove drumming in studio and live situations for over 30 years.

Spyro Gyra looks forward to 2017 and beyond, they show no sign of slowing down. Over the last 40+ years, they have performed over five thousand shows, released thirty-one albums (not counting “Best Of…” compilations) selling over ten million albums while also achieving one platinum and two gold albums. Although few acts have accomplished this type of record, they have done it by constantly challenging themselves as is evidenced by their last studio release “The Rhinebeck Sessions” which was written and recorded over three days in the studio.

 Born in Brooklyn, bandleader Jay Beckenstein grew up listening to the music of Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins and Dizzy Gillespie, and started playing the saxophone at age seven. Beckenstein attended the University at Buffalo, starting out as a biology major before changing to music performance (read classical and avant garde). During summer breaks, he and an old high school friend, keyboardist Jeremy Wall, played gigs together back on Long Island. Wall attended college in California, and after both graduated, Beckenstein stayed in Buffalo’s thriving music scene, where Wall eventually joined him.

In their earliest days, Spyro Gyra took their cues from Weather Report and Return to Forever – bands whose creative flights were fueled by a willingness to do things that had never been done before. “I believed that we were springing from what Weather Report did,” says Beckenstein. “I never thought in commercial terms. I just thought they were the next step in the evolution of jazz, and that we would be part of it.”

Cedric Lewis Stephens

Turn it up it's Cedric Lewis Stephens professionally as is an American singer, songwriter and pianist. "Nothin' But" time released 2015. Cedric Stephens enjoyed singing and played piano at a  local  church.

Cedric began working with "Beat Royalty" Chris Kooreman, and Edo Plasschaert producers signed with EMI Music and the Beat Royalty Group family.

The  World Stood Still, helps mark a milestone in an awaited long journey that has spanned years and continents. What’s remained consistent along the way though has been Mykeljon’s passion and dedication. These traits have kept him going through the beginning of his musical education, to the completion of the recording of his first album. But it was Mykeljon’s godmother who helped fuel that passion, inspire that dedication, and nurture the talents he displayed from a very young age.

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Mykeljon found his way to music and the guitar at only four years old. His natural aptitude for performing brought him the honour of playing for Queen Elizabeth II when he was eleven. Even with this, music was not the career path that Mykeljon was set to follow. Years later, as a university student, he released a demo tape that got a surprising amount of airplay on local radio stations. It was then that he made the very bold move of quitting his current studies and throwing himself head first into a future in music. Read More
