Al Jarreau & George Benson




Jarreau was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the fifth of six children. His website refers to Reservoir Avenue, the name of the street where he lived. His father was a minister and singer, and his mother was a church pianist. He and his family sang together in church concerts and in benefits, and he and his mother performed at PTA meetings. George Benson- Benson was born and raised in the Hill District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.At the age of 7, Benson first played the ukulele in a corner drug store, for which he was paid a few dollars. At the age of 8, he played guitar in an unlicensed nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights, but the police soon closed the club down.  At the age of 10, Benson recorded his first single record, She Makes Me Mad, with RCA-Victor in New York, under the name Little Georgie.
