Rod Stewart Merry Christmas Baby
Rod Stewart, released back in 2012 with Merry Christmas, Baby , an easygoing and chipper collection of secular seasonal standards. If you don't have this cd, this is a great stocking stuffer for Rod Stewart fans! A couple of carols are thrown in for good measure but these songs -- "Silent Night," "We Three Kings" presented as a duet with Mary J. Blige -- along with a mildly incongruous "When You Wish Upon a Star," slide by easily on the mellow big-band swing of the rest of the record. Song for song, Merry Christmas, Baby is very much of a piece with Rod 's ongoing Great American Songbook series, with Stewart not straying from the familiar form of these songs and producer David Foster laying on all manner of soft, soothing sounds, whether it's acoustic guitars, synthesizers, strings, or a children's choir on "Silent Night." Very rarely does this hint at the Rod of the '70s

Ambrosia
Ambrosia an American rock band formed in Southern California in 1970. Ambrosia had five Top Forty hit singles between such as Biggest Part of Me”, “You’re the Only Woman”,“How Much I Feel.” The group was founded as a quartet with guitarist/vocalist David Pack, bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, keyboardist Christopher North, and drummer Burleigh Drummond. They chose the name Ambrosia in 1970 to represent a vision of their music: all shades, textures, colors and styles. While Ambrosia had many radio hits in the 1970s, much of the material on their five albums is progressive in nature.
David Pack's 1985 solo album Anywhere You Go actually featured both Puerta and Drummond (alongside Kerry Livgren, Michael McDonald, Stanley Clarke, and Toto's Michael Porcaro),
and the band reunited several years later. Several tours followed
during the '90s, along with new recordings featured on the band's 1997 Anthology release. Pack left after 2001 for additional solo projects, and the band released the concert album Live a year later without him. Read More

Art of Noise

Art of Noise (also The Art of Noise
An avant-garde synthpop group formed in early 1983 by engineer/producer Gary Langan and programmer J. J. Jeczalik, along with arranger Anne Dudley, producer Trevor Horn and music journalist Paul Morley. The group's mostly instrumental compositions were novel melodic sound collages based on digital sampler technology, which was new at the time. Inspired by turn-of-the-20th-century revolutions in music, the Art of Noise were initially packaged as a faceless anti- or non-group, blurring the distinction between the art and its creators. The band is noted for innovative use of electronics and computers in pop music and particularly for innovative use of sampling.
The name of the group alludes to the essay "The Art of Noises" by noted futurist Luigi Russolo. From the earliest releases on ZTT, the band referred to itself as both Art of Noise and The Art of Noise. Official and unofficial releases and press material use both versions. The group is perhaps best known currently for the international Top 20 singles "Kiss" and "Peter Gunn", the latter of which won a 1986 Grammy Award.

Tony Exum Jr.
TONY EXUM, JR. brings to mind the soufulness of David Sanborn, the sensual sounds of the late Grover Washington Jr. and the silky sounds of late George Howard.Tony Exum, Jr. felt much the same in releasing his debut album of that name.
In 1996, Exum joined with Meadowlark Jivin', a funk-filled jazz/blues/soul group local to Ft. Collins, CO and spearheaded by Brian Hull and, continued touring and recording with them for 7 years. Throughout it all, he had also stepped out on his own within the Colorado music scene and soon found himself opening for and performing with such notables as the Temptations, the Four Tops, the Manhattans, Chieli Minucci & Special EFX, Nelson Rangell, Marion Meadows, and many others. George Benson
Greatest Hits Of All has a nicely varied, mix of 19 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly talented artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. They’re all here. After four years of touring and developing “An Unforgettable, A Tribute to Nat King Cole,” the legendary George Benson makes his most inspired album: My Inspiration: A Tribute to Nat King Cole. The recording is one of the most meaningful of Benson’s career and is a testament to the spirit of Cole’s timeless body of work. Benson’s heartfelt renditions of some of Cole’s greatest songs with Nelson Riddle arrangements and the 42-piece Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra are complemented by duets with Tony Award winner Idina Menzel and rising star Judith Hill, along with a special collaboration with multi-GRAMMY and Pulitzer Prize-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.
